Photo Slide

This is just a simple photo slide by Powerpoint and convert to web slideshow using slideshare since I can't upload enough to share all photo one by one due to slow service of Internet at home. So I decide to post it this way, hope you all can enjoy the slide even I haven't got it enough to share, only the best view taken put into the slide. Sorry not all are inside the slide.

Been promoted to be the BKP

In every Collages or High Education level Schools there will be some student organization given to some students or selected students by vote through teachers or by department course, this organization sometime known as Student Body Association or Student Council Association where the student will be the one who organize extracurricular activity or school event for the student and the school. This Student Council often serve to engage students in learning about democracy and leadership.

The Student Council help share students' ideas, interests, and concerns with teachers and school principals. They often also help raise funds for school-wide activities, including social event, community projects and school reform. For example most schools do food drives, fundraisers and parties. Many members learn skills that were an extension of their formal education.

According to several schools:
"A Student Council is a representative structure for students only, through which they can become involved in the affairs of school, working in partnership with school management, staff and parents for the benefit of the school and its students."
In MKJB this organization known as Badan Kebajikan Pelajar (BKP). Its been 2 months since I have become the Student Representative (SR) or Class Monitor now I was selected to be one of the BKP, still new with this organization and I haven't got to know much how thing works here in MKJB, and I haven't know much the profile of other students who involve in this Student Council. Hope being one of the BKP doesn't stop me from learning my subjects in school and hope I get to learn more how to handle things in school event or activity.

IT Social Networks Presentation

On 12th September, in subject IT Application we were given topic about social networks and were told to prepared a PowerPoint presentation by groups, my group consist of 4 people; Myself, Hazwan, Nurul Jannah and Farzana. For this presentation we choose My Space as the social networks. This is the slide show about the presentation we had on that day of presentation.

How to make a download link of a file for others to download?

Firstly you will need an online storage capacity, search through Google for any that interests you and have way to share your file with others, like 4Share, Hotfile, MegaCloud and may be more.

I've been using MegaCloud as my online storage, briefly I'll be explain how to do it:

1) Go to MegaCloud by typing www.megacloud.com into the search engine and create an account if you haven't had an account yet, then log in the account.(so far MegaCloud only have 8GB free storage additionally capacity need to upgrade the account required payment to do so)

2) Inside your storage account you can create folder to store in files by clicking +New and rename the folder name.

3) Once you create folder by double click it you'll enter the folder or you can enter the folder by clicking the Browse on the left side of the +New button.

4) To upload your file just click the upload button found further right row of the +New button, and choose any file you wish to upload into your online storage, it will automatically upload the file into your storage.

5) Once the upload finish, if you wish to share your file with others in your Blog just click the share button found when you highlight your file you with to share, and copy the URL.

6) Inside your blog just click new post to make new entry, within it type your introduction you wish to type in, and click the link button to enter your file URL.

7) Post it once you finish with it and your friends can look through your entries, by clicking the URL your friend will automatically hyperlink to web downloader of MegaCloud to download your file.

This is how I've been using it through with my previous download file entries in my Blog. If others have another way to do, feel free to share it around. Thank you.

How does the steering gear system of a ship work?

There are two types of systems - 4 ram and rotary vane.

Both systems are required to have complete redundancy - Any failure of any one part should not affect the ship ability to steer.

The 4 ram system achieves this by doubling everything. The rotary vane system achieves this normally by having two identical units attached to the rudder.

The 4 ram system without any failures, uses hydraulic fluid driven by a pump and acting on all 4 rams to move a tiller attached to the rudder. The fluid is controlled normally by a pump that varies its delivery depending on the demand to the system.

For example, if the demand is straight ahead, and the rudder points straight ahead, then the pump move no fluid. The rudder stays fixed. However, if the demand was full starboard and the rudder was elsewhere, this difference would result in the pump moving fluid in the correct direction to move the rudder to full starboard. This is known in the world of control theory as 'P' control, and in case is achieved entirely mechanically.

more modern system use electronic control systems to control valves to move the rudder. The result is the same.

During a failure of a component, the 4 ram system will operate on 2 rams. This results in reduced performance.

the rotary vane system has 3 compartments separated by vanes and fixed to a central shaft. As hydraulic fluid acts on the vanes, the central shaft is moved. This shaft is fixed directly to the rudder. A similar 'P' control system to the 4 ram system controls the hydraulic fluid.

In case of loss of communication with the bridge, each type may be operated manually by a person in the steering compartment. However, there must always be some powered assistance. The forces involved are too large for a person to be able to steer a vessel unaided.

Here is a video of a ship steering rotary actuator operating:

What is Computer?

Computers in general may be said to be an electronic machine that has been programmed by humans to perform tasks set. Two principles or the nature of the major computer: -

-it will respond to a specific set of instructions in accordance with the specified method or sequence.

-it is able to carry out the command of various shapes and in a more systematic level.

In general, the main function of the computer is composed of a data into information. Data refers to something that is not organized or do not have an orderly organization. Information refers to data that has been composed to a more structured and meaningful. Information is usually more accurate, complete and convincing.

THE CONCEPT OF COMPUTER LITERACY

Why one should learn about computers? Apart from the curiosity factor (and perhaps also because it is one of the compulsory subjects in many schools and tertiary institutions), we might have realized that it was difficult for a person to continue to live a day without the basic knowledge about computers. Following are three key concepts needed to clarify what is meant by computer literacy.

AWARENESS

We realize the importance of computers, multi-use and importance in the community.

KNOWLEDGE

We understand the concept of how a computer system developed and how it works.

INTERACTION

We were able to interact with the computer in other words, able to use a computer in the performance of specific applications.

In general, the computer literacy can be defined as sufficient knowledge to be available to a person to use a computer application and live in a computer-oriented society today.

Lack of the knowledge base can also cause a person hit by computer phobia syndrome, a syndrome of fear computers.

What is Marine Engineering?

An engineering job involve in maritime life which link from small river water to an open sea areas, from small boat to a large ship or vessel and also involving work in oil rigs platform. This engineering also have different branch to start with from basic engineering knowledge like, mechanical, electrical, civil, electronics, computers and other that has incorporated from them, this such branch mix together to become one known as Marine Engineering.

Study marine engineering deals with the design, development, production and maintenance of the equipments used at sea on board sea vessels like boats, ships etc. This field study will involve naval architecture and nautical science.

Marine engineer is a person who is responsible for the operation, maintenance and repair of all major mechanical and engineered equipments on board a ship. There are many mechanical systems that help in the operations of any vessel like the propulsion mechanics, electricity and power generation system, lubrication, fuel system, water distillation, lighting and air conditioning system etc. These are all included in the technical responsibilities of a marine engineer.

Few Knowledge for Gas Welding

OXYACETYLENE FLAME SETTINGS

A mixture of fuel gas, usually acetylene, and oxygen are mixed in a blow pipe and burnt to provide a high temperature flame, approximately 3200’C. An oxygen-acetylene flame can be set to neutral, oxidizing or carburizing condition depending upon the metal to be welded and the type of filler metal to be used. In an oxygen-acetylene neutral flame the gases are mixed, with the result that the oxygen burns up the carbon and hydrogen in the acetylene to release heat and gases, the products of combustion. When welding mild steel these gases reduce oxide protect the molten pool and welding zone.
- Neutral
- Oxidizing
- Carburizing

THE NEUTRAL FLAME

The oxygen-acetylene neutral flame is produced when approximately equal of oxygen and acetylene are mixed in the welding blow pipe. It is recognized by the sharply defined white or luminous inner core, that is the inner part of the flame adjacent to the tip of the blow pipe nozzle. The combustion of gases is completed just beyond the extremity of the inner cone.

 A Neutral Flame

To ensure that a strictly neutral flame is being obtained, the neutral flame should fired be adjusted to give smooth and rounded inner cone. The oxygen supply is then slightly reduced to give just the hint of a white haze of acetylene ( feather ) barely visible at the tip of the inner cone. When the neutral flame is set in this condition it can easy be seen when the flame is becoming oxidizing by the disappearance of this white haze. This is particularly important because as welding proceeds the flame will tend to become slightly oxidizing.

THE OXIDIZING FLAME

An oxidizing flame is the flame containing an excess of oxygen the flame is first set to a neutral condition and the acetylene value is then turned down to reduce the amount of acetylene giving an excess of oxygen. A harsh sounding flame is produced, the inner cone is sharply defined but is slightly shorter and more pointer than in a neutral flame. The amount of excess oxygen will depend upon the metal being welded of filler metal to be used.
A Oxidizing Flame

Slightly oxidizing flame give a higher flame temperature than a neutral flame the top of the inner cone being the hottest part of the flame.

THE CARBURIZING FLAME

A carburizing flame is a flame containing an excess of acetylene which gives up carbon when it is applied to heated steels. An oxygen-acetylene carburizing flame is often reffored to as a reducing flame it is three distinct flame section, the inner cone which is not sharply defined, surrounded by a quantity of unburned gas known as a feather all in the outer envelope of the flame.

The flame is first set to neutral condition and the acetylene supply increased until the end of inner cone lose its sharp outline with the appearance as a feather, between the inner cone and the outer envelope. For varying the welding techniques the correct amount of excess acetylene is obtained by adjustment to all give a feather inner cone.

A Carburizing Flame

A carburizing flame give a slightly lower flame temperature than a neutral flame.

The Neutral Flame

A Neutral flame is used for the fusion of mild steel, copper, aluminium, stainless steel, cast iron.

The Oxidizing Flame

The Oxidizing flame is in most cases undesirable, mild steel, weld made with an oxidizing flame will be oxidized giving a weak and porous.

The Carburizing Flame

A Carburizing flame is use when depositing hard facing and wear resistant materials, onto the surface of the steel and cast iron it is also frequently used for the flame brazing of aluminium.
